Introduction
It is of paramount importance that we improve, adapt and grow the overall knowledge capital in the country and make it available to all Indians, particularly to our student community. One of the most effective ways of achieving this would be to stimulate the development and dissemination of quality open access (OA) materials and open educational resources (OER) in our institutions of education. Open access of quality material not only has the potential to improve the pedagogy of teaching of our teachers but also to drastically improve paradigms of learning in the country.
In order to be part of the growing ‘Open Access Movement’ across the world, the National Knowledge Commission has put together an exhaustive list of open courseware available online.
