NKC Consultations on Translation |

A workshop on 'Promoting the Translation Industry' was held on 11th February 2006. The workshop focused on means of encouraging the translation industry in the country, and the need for a National Translation Mission to promote translation in the country, across Indian languages, from Indian languages into foreign languages and vice versa.

Second NKC Workshop on Translation |

A workshop on 'Translation in the Sciences and Social Sciences' was held on 8th July 2006. The workshop focused on the special needs of the sciences and social sciences and academic teaching in the country with special reference to the need for translated material in educational institutions. The institutional design and activities of the proposed National Translation Mission were also discussed.
