Surveys on Innovation |
| |
The aim of the NKC initiative on Innovation is to discover and explore how Innovation is taking place, driving growth and improving competitiveness in various sectors of the Indian economy, with a view to replicate and enhance India's Innovation Intensity, and to ascertain the role of the Government and other factors as Innovation enablers.
In order to achieve this aim and to collect quantitative data and case studies from various sectors, the NKC has undertaken a survey of:
- Large enterprises - manufacturing and services
- Small and Medium Enterprises
- Agriculture sector
For large enterprises, NKC designed a questionnaire seeking responses of CEOs of firms across the country, regarding their experiences with innovation, pre- and post-liberalization. A similar questionnaire was devised for Small and Medium Enterprises, and a series of workshops has been held in order to understand the challenges specific to this sector. A series of interviews with experts is underway for the agriculture sector.
The outcome of this survey will be the preparation of a user-friendly manual on "Applying Innovation for Growth and Competitiveness", and a letter and report to the Prime Minister with the relevant recommendations. |
